Genero Adran Leagues

Briton Ferry Llansawel have gone to the top of the league for the first time in their history, following their stunning 5-0 victory over Cardiff Met Women on Sunday.

Alison Witts opened the scoring for Ferry just before the half hour, and Maia Owen added the second two minutes before half time. Owen went on to score a second midway through the second half, with substitute Catryn Cook contributing a late double to leave her side as the new leaders, having scored twelve times in their three wins so far and yet to concede a goal.

Ferry sit on top of the table on goal difference from champions Cardiff City Women, who are also on maximum points after beating previous leaders The New Saints 2-0 at the Cardiff City Stadium. The first half was goalless but five minutes after the restart, Lisa Owen gave City the lead and Laura Curnock made the points safe late on, with her first goal for the club.

Swansea City are up into the top three for the first time this season when they won 3-2 away to Wrexham. In front of an attendance of 1,337 at the SToK Cae Ras, Stacey John-Davis gave the Swans a twelfth minute lead which was quickly cancelled out by Ava Suckley. Swansea went back in front, midway through the second half, through Jessica Williams and an own goal put them further ahead with nine minutes remaining. Ria Hughes pulled a goal back for Wrexham in injury time but Swansea saw the game out for a second successive win, whilst Wrexham are still looking for their first points.

Barry Town Utd notched up their first league victory of the season when they defeated Aberystwyth Town 4-0. Erin Murray and Jasmine Turner gave Barry a two-goal lead going into the interval and Ingrid Aadland made it three, ten minutes into the second half. Ellie Preece rounded off the scoring with the final goal to complete a fine day for Barry but Aberystwyth remain at the foot of the table on goal difference, still trying to get off the mark as are Wrexham and Cardiff Met.

There were no matches played in either the North or South Divisions, due to the teams being involved in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup.
