Genero Adran Leagues

League leaders Cardiff City showcased their attacking prowess with a 6-1 victory over Aberystwyth Town at home.

Kerry Walklett opened the scoring after six minutes, followed swiftly by Mackenzie Older’s low drive. Lily Moralee-Hughes replied for Aberystwyth on the half hour, but Laura Curnock restored City’s two-goal cushion in stoppage time. Curnock converted a penalty four minutes into the second half, marking her fifth goal in three games, while Older’s 89th minute strike made her the league’s top scorer with six goals. Sixteen-year-old substitute Scarlett Baker-Perry capped a commanding display with her first senior goal in stoppage time.

Wrexham maintained their strong start with a 3-1 triumph over Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium. The Red Dragons surged into a two-goal lead within 12 minutes, as Ava Suckley unleashed a spectacular long-range strike and Katie Barker capitalised on Lili Jones’ precise through ball to slot past Amelia Forkings. Swansea’s Stacey John pulled one back on 24 minutes, and the hosts pressed for an equaliser, only for Wrexham goalkeeper Liz Craven to thwart Lucy Finch and Aimee Deacon. Jones sealed the win on 59 minutes, latching onto Suckley’s pass to fire home, securing Wrexham’s fourth victory in five matches. They remain second in the table, trailing leaders Cardiff City only on goal difference.

The New Saints solidified their place in the top three with a 6-1 beating of Pontypridd United at Park Hall. Caitlin Chapman struck twice in the opening seven minutes, intercepting a pass and then slotting home Lia Lewis’ through ball. Chantelle Teare’s stunning 30-yard strike on 17 minutes stole the show, and Kay Baker headed in from Kelsey Richardson’s corner. Madison Lloyd pulled one back for Pontypridd in first half stoppage time, but TNS held firm. Substituted Grace Thomas, aged 17, netted her first senior goal in the 80th minute, before Teare’s second long range effort completed the scoring.

Briton Ferry Llansawel claimed their third consecutive win, defeating Barry Town United 4-1 at Jenner Park. Jade Crofts struck twice in the first 22 minutes, first slotting in at the near post and then firing home from Megan Kearle’s corner. Lucy Powell converted a penalty after Keira Harris’ handball, and Maia Owen’s exquisite volley from Grace Evans’ cross made it 4-0. Danielle Broadhurst scored for Barry in stoppage time, but there was no comeback. The match marked Stevie McCarthy-Campbell’s final game as Barry’s manager, as he departed to take charge of Gwalia United.

Genero Adran North

Reigning Genero Adran North champions Connah’s Quay Nomads began their title defence with a 5-2 victory at Llanfair United. Ella Jones opened the scoring after two minutes, followed by Hannah Slack’s superb solo effort. Llanfair fought back with Tania Wylde’s curled strike and Sophie Cook’s fifth goal of the season, levelling the score on 54 minutes. However, Polly Wild-McGregor restored Nomads’ lead, and late goals from Aimee Redfern and substitute Megan Galeandro’s stunning free kick sealed the win. Flint Town United secured a dramatic 3-2 win at Berriew, courtesy of a stoppage time winner—their third such triumph this season. Dottie Evans gave Berriew the lead, but Zoe Stopford’s quickfire brace turned the game around. Evans equalised on 78 minutes, only for Jennifer Haynes’ cross-cum-shot to sail over Sarah Parkes in the 92nd minute, clinching the points for Flint. Felinheli earned their first victory of the season, defeating Llandudno 2-1 at the Go Goodwins Stadium. Ellie Jones struck early, and Alaw Huws doubled the lead. Seren Kerfoot-Robinson’s stoppage time goal for Llandudno proved a mere consolation.

Genero Adran South

Taffs Well celebrated their first ever Genero Adran South victory, overcoming Cascade YC 2-1. Rianne Jones scored twice, in the sixth and 72nd minutes, while Chrystalla Moreton’s late strike for Cascade couldn’t spark a comeback. Pure Swansea meanwhile maintained their perfect start with a 2-1 win over Carmarthen Town. Flavia Jenkins gave Carmarthen the lead, but Charley Haynes equalised and Hannah Duffy’s injury time strike secured the victory. Cardiff Met Women continued their winning streak with a 5-2 victory at Penybont. Molly Chapman scored early, but Maddie Priday levelled for Bont. Second half goals from Celyn Garton, Anna Houghton, an own goal by Carys Minton, and Demi Parry’s strike ensured Met’s dominance. Cwmbran Celtic bounced back with a 4-0 rout of Llanelli Town. Fiona Anthony opened the scoring, followed by Lauren Boyd’s penalty and late goals from Macey Morris and Anthony, securing Celtic’s biggest league win of 2025.
