Hibs land Jordan and Gibb signings

Hibernian have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2025-26 ScottishPower Women’s Premier League season with the signings of forward Hannah Jordan and defender Caley Gibb, both on one-year contracts, the club confirmed today.

Hannah Jordan, 20, arrives from Spartans, where she scored an impressive 13 league goals in the 2024-25 season, the highest tally from any player outside the division’s top five clubs. Her standout performances earned her a nomination for the PFA Scotland SWPL Young Player of the Year award and the SWPL Player of the Month accolade for November 2024, following a prolific run that included a hat-trick against Montrose.

A Scotland Under-19 international with 10 caps and a goal in a UEFA Women’s U19 Euro qualifier against Liechtenstein, Jordan has also featured for the Scotland Under-23 side as recently as April 2025.

Hibs head coach Grant Scott expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to welcome Hannah to the club. Her goalscoring record in a challenging season for Spartans shows her potential, and we believe she can enhance our attacking options.”

Jordan, eager to take the next step in her career, said: “Joining Hibs offers the perfect environment for me to thrive. The club’s success last season, winning the league, is something I’m excited to be part of.”

Hibernian also confirmed the permanent signing of 21-year-old defender Caley Gibb, who returns following a successful loan spell from Partick Thistle in February 2025. A product of Hibs’ youth academy, Gibb made her senior debut for the club at 15 in May 2019 before spending five seasons at Spartans and a brief stint with Partick Thistle.

During her loan last season, Gibb made 10 appearances, starting the final four matches, and played a pivotal role in Hibs’ historic league title triumph. Her versatility and composure earned her a full time return to the club.

Grant Scott praised Gibb’s impact: “Caley proved herself during her loan, delivering standout performances that helped us secure the title. She’s a young talent with immense potential, and we’re excited to have her back permanently.”

Gibb shared her delight: “Returning to Hibs full time is a dream come true. The past few months have been incredible, and I’m thrilled to represent the club again.”

Hibernian Women, fresh off their championship-winning campaign, will look to build on their success with these additions as they prepare for the new season.
