Jess Ramsay signs first professional contract

Hibernian are delighted to announce that Jessica Ramsay has signed her first professional contract with the club.

The 17-year-old midfielder has committed her future to the Club until 2029 by putting pen-to-paper on a three-year deal.

Ramsay becomes the latest Hibs Academy talent to extend her stay at the Club, following in the footsteps of Rosie Livingstone and, most recently, Rowena Armitage. This long term deal highlights the Club’s ongoing focus on developing its own players and strengthening the progression route available to young players from the Girls Academy into the Women’s First Team.

The promising youngster made her Hibernian debut aged 15 in March 2025, impressing as a second half substitute during their 3-0 ScottishPower Women’s Premier League victory over Motherwell.

Ramsay then simultaneously made her first start for the Club and her European debut in August 2025, excelling in their UEFA Women’s Champions League win against Apollon in Cyprus. Her first senior goal followed against Dryburgh Athletic in the Scottish Cup last December, before she provided her first professional assist for Livingstone’s memorable Edinburgh Derby winner back in March 2026.

In total, Ramsay has made 10 appearances for Hibernian Women, including two starts, and has continued to be a regular in the Scotland U17s set up whilst recently making her Scotland U19s debut aged 17.

After agreeing to her first professional contract, Ramsay said: “I really like this Club, everything that it stands for and what it's achieved, so I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do next.”

Hibs Women Head Coach Joelle Murray commented: “We’re delighted to have Jess commit to the Club on a long-term contract following the impact she has already made within the squad, both on the pitch and here at HTC, at such a young age.

“Jess becomes the latest player to transition from our Academy to the First Team on professional terms, which reflects the strength of our Academy as well as the trust we place in the pathway we have created.

“She is a promising young talent, who has already made her mark in both domestic and European competition, and we are excited to continue nurturing her talent and potential moving forward.”
