Willie Kirk named Manager of the Month

Leicester City Women Manager Willie Kirk has been named Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Month for October.

 

Kirk guided the Foxes to two wins and one draw from their opening four league fixtures, which is the best-ever start to a top-flight campaign in LCFC Women’s history.

 

Voted for by a panel of judges and the wider footballing community, he saw off competition from Chelsea’s Emma Hayes, Manchester City’s Gareth Taylor, Tottenham Hotspur’s Robert Vilahamn and Liverpool’s Matt Beard.

 

Sharing his thoughts on the accolade, Kirk said: “I am really proud of the whole group. The start of the season shows you how hard everyone has worked during the summer. Any small wins have to be celebrated and we want to create new standards to elevate what we're doing here."

 

City are next in action on Sunday 12th November when they host Arsenal at the King Power Stadium (6.45pm kick off).
