Leicester recruit Colombian forward

Karla Torres has become the latest recruit for Leicester City Women, with the forward joining from Liga Betplay Dimayor Femenina side Independiente Santa Fe, subject to visa, league and international clearance.

The Colombian international makes the move to King Power Stadium in a loan deal that will see her complete the 2024-25 Barclays Women’s Super League season with the club.

Torres arrives in Leicestershire with huge potential, having already earned two senior caps for the Colombian national team following her standout performances in the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in 2022.

The versatile forward provides Amandine Miquel with additional attacking options having played in various positions across the front line. Her impressive spell in Colombia’s top tier has seen the youngster register 12 goals in 27 league appearances.

A talent with an emerging reputation on the world stage, Torres leaves Liga Betplay Dimayor Femenina after playing a key role in Santa Fe’s successful 2024 regular season campaign, where the team finished in third place.

Torres will now look forward to linking up with the team ahead of Leicester’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup fixture with Manchester City on Sunday 9th February (2pm kick off).
