Lucy Bronze pens new Chelsea deal

Chelsea is delighted to announce Lucy Bronze has signed a contract extension at the club until the summer of 2027.

On putting pen to paper, Bronze said: ‘I feel like this is the right thing for me at this time. I’ve really enjoyed the last two years being at Chelsea and back in England, and I feel like we're in a place now where we're moving forward as a club. Added to the move to Stamford Bridge, it’s a really exciting time to be part of the team.’

One of the most experienced and highly decorated players in the women’s game, the defender first signed for the Blues from Barcelona ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

She has since become a key part of Sonia Bompastor’s first team, making 56 appearances and scoring five goals, as the team has collected four trophies during her two-year spell.

Bronze scored the only goal of the game in Chelsea’s title-clinching 1-0 win away at Manchester United in April 2025 and has been voted into the FIFPRO Women's World XI by her fellow professionals in both of her seasons with the Blues. In the summer of 2025, she was voted into ninth place at the Ballon d’Or.

Bronze has enjoyed a storied international career with England, having made 148 appearances for the Lionesses since her debut in June 2013, scoring 22 goals. Bronze was an integral part of both European Championship-winning squads in 2022 and 2025.
