Portchy relishing Cherries challenge
AFC Portchester are acquiring a reputation for doing well in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup in recent seasons, and on Sunday they have possibly their biggest challenge of all when they face AFC Bournemouth for a place in the Third Round.

This match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams bringing their best to the pitch. The team has been training exceptionally well, showing great dedication and hard work in every session. There's a real sense of togetherness among the players, with everyone supporting each other both on and off the field.
The players are hopeful and confident that they will rise to the occasion and deliver a memorable performance. The atmosphere is sure to be electric, and the supporters can't wait to get behind the players as they strive for victory in this crucial cup tie.
“What an experience Sunday is going to be, [an] amazing opportunity for all at AFC Portchester,” goalkeeper Roxy Roberts told Women’s Soccer Scene. “We wouldn’t be able to enjoy this opportunity without the support of Mark [Dugan] and everyone at Portchy.
“I can't wait to put the gloves on now and leave everything out there on the pitch playing with some pretty awesome girls, in front of family and friends. Hopefully we can put in a performance that will help inspire the next generation and one to be proud of, against a very tough quality opposition.
“The beauty of the FA Cup… everyone loves an underdog story, anything can happen!! The future is Orange.”
Midfielder Sara Hinton sadly won’t be playing but remains confident that they can give a good account of themselves. “I am super proud of the team’s achievement in getting this far and wish I was able to be a part of the battle on Sunday,” she said. “I know we’ll give them a great game!”
“This is what the fa cup is about, a big club!” added Paula Taylor. “It’s an exciting time for the players and for the club, with no expectation but to play football and enjoy the moment and play our football. Let’s make the south coast orange!”
The tie will be played at the Onsite Group Stadium, PO16 9DT with a 1pm kick off (gates open at 11.30am), Admission is £5 adults, £3 concessions and refreshments are available, although there is limited parking.
