The Regional Leagues
London & South East League
The League Trophy Final on Sunday at Dorking was contested by two teams who were looking to capture their second trophy of the season, with Division One North champions Hammersmith taking on Division One South title winners Eastbourne Borough.
The match turned out to be as close as expected with Ashton Taylor-Bracking giving Hammersmith an early lead, with Borough equalising through Molly Hill ahead of half time. The second half could not provide a winner, with the match finishing in a 1-1 draw and going into a penalty shootout, where Eastbourne triumphed 4-3 thanks to two saves from goalkeeper Sophia Moule.
Southern Region League
AFC Portchester will finish the season in third place in the Premier Division following their eleven-goal blast in the final match of the season. Layla Morgan led the spree for Portchy with a five-goal haul, Sophie Bell weighed in with a hat-trick and the tally was completed by Lola Meyer (2) and Lauren Aitken.
West Midlands League
Shifnal Town are all but assured of the runners-up spot and need to avoid defeat on Sunday in order to finish in second place. On Sunday they defeated Coventry Sphinx 3-1 with goals from Jenna Boddison, Rebecca-lee Bown and Emily Cooper, and they followed this up on Thursday night by beating Shrewsbury Town 3-2, meaning they move above Redditch Borough into second place with a goal difference advantage of one goal going into their final game. Port Vale meanwhile ended their campaign on a winning note, Sophie Bwalya and Sian McHigh giving them a 2-0 victory over Solihull Moors.
In Division One South, Droitwich Spa's hopes of finishing the season in second place were brought to an end when they were on the wrong end of a high scoring affair, losing 8-4 to Redditch Utd. Rosie Hargreaves (2), Abbie Hyland, Katie Rogers, Kiera-Cheynelle Scarlett, Ellie Williams and Ruby Brett all got on the scoresheet for Redditch, which means that Leamington Ladies take the runners-up spot.
