Renfrew Ladies have lifted the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship rose bowl in front of hundreds of fans at New Western Park following a successful title charge which saw them win the title with two games to spare.    

League sponsors Barclays were on hand to present the trophy after Renfrew drew 2-2 with Bonnyrigg Rose, having secured the title last week.

Stephen Flaherty, Scotland Barclays Site Lead, commented: "Congratulations to Renfrew Ladies, who deserve high praise for securing the Championship title with two games to spare—their determination and ability to recover from setbacks have made New Western Park a stronghold this season.

“As sponsors, Barclays are proud to recognise Renfrew's achievement and highlight the importance of diversity in sport, where every player’s contribution strengthens football. We thank all teams in Barclays' Scottish leagues for an exciting season and look forward to another competitive league next year."

Falkirk secured the all-important runners-up spot with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Ayr United, after third placed Rossvale were held 3-3 by Stenhousemuir.

At the other end of the table, the relegation play-off place will be decided on the final day after Armadale Thistle and Greenock Morton both won against Dryburgh Athletic and Forfar Farmington respectively. Morton remain just a point behind Armadale and the two sides face each other in a huge game next Sunday.

The Barclays League One title race will also be decided on the final day, a tense 1-1 draw between the top two Elgin City and St Mirren allowed Dunipace to come back into contention with a 3-2 victory over Queen of the South.

Elgin’s dramatic injury time equaliser means the Moray side remain three points ahead at the top of the table on 50 points with a +30 goal difference, Dunipace move to second on 47 with a +23 goal difference and St Mirren are on the same points with a +21 goal difference. All three sides are at home on the final day, with Queens travelling to Elgin, Westdyke visiting Dunipace and Cambusdoon at St Mirren.

Bishopton secured the SWFL Central West title with a 2-0 victory over Gleniffer Thistle, while the SWFL North will go to the final day after title rivals Arbroath and Huntly drew 0-0 to keep Arbroath a point ahead. Grampian went top with a victory over Blairgowrie, but face an agonising wait on the final day as they have played their final game and must hope both Arbroath and Huntly lose.

Edinburgh South remained two points ahead in SWFL East with a 19-0 demolition of Loanhead Miners.
