Scotland Under-19 seal promotion

Scotland Women's Under-19s capped off a dominant week in Albania with 3-0 win over their hosts as they sealed a promotion to League A in style.

Michael McArdle's side began their Round Two campaign with an eye-catching 10-0 victory over Liechenstein. After Mia McAuley gave the Scots the lead in Tirana, Tiree Burchill took over, registering a first half hat-trick to have Scotland 4-0 in front at the break.

There was to be no let off after the break as Lisa Forrest matched Burchill's efforts by grabbing three goals of her own before a Jodi McLeary double and a last-gasp Rachel Murchie strike sealed a resounding 10-0 win.

The second match against Cyprus was also in Tirana and Burchill's fourth goal in two games put Scotland in front just after the 20 minute mark. McAuley quickly made it 2-0 but this match would prove a tighter affair, with no further goals following as Scotland saw out the win comfortably.

Hosts Albania would represent the final challenge and Scotland were once again made to work for large periods of the match, before McLeary eventually broke the deadlock just before the hour mark. Brodie Greenwood's first goal of the week doubled the young Scots advantage and McAuley continued her record of scoring in each game as they wrapped up a 3-0 win.

After a disappointing October camp saw the Scots relegated to League B, McArdle's side will be pleased to move back up to the top division at the first opportunity. Scotland will now compete in League A in autumn as they begin their campaign, working towards the 2025 European Championships.
