Wrexham went through to the quarter finals of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup but only after a late goal ended the brave resistance of Llandudno Ladies.

Katie Sharp scored the only goal of the game in sixth minute of injury time to book Wrexham’s place in the last eight.

Holders Cardiff City Women swept through by scoring five times without reply past Swansea University. Six of the eight ties went ahead on Sunday and none of them produced a match in which both teams scored. Pontypridd Utd were the highest scorers on the day, putting their league worries behind them against Aberaman Ladies. Efa Preece-Jones led the scoring with a six-goal haul and Gracie Grosvenor weighed in with a further four, Sophie Topper bagged a brace and the others came from Ffion Simmonds, Shannon Greenway, Jasmine Turner, Ellie Gunney and Nicole Fenton.
