It was a good week for Cliftonville Ladies as they strengthened their position in the Danske Bank NI Women's Premiership title race.
The Reds opened up the week by regaining the leadership with a 5-2 victory away to Linfield. Erin Montgomery, Niamh Connolly and Fionnula Morgan put Cliftonville three ahead inside the opening half hour and after Rebecca Bassett and Rebecca McKenna had reduced the arrears for Linfield early in the second half, a late double from Kirsty McGuinness secured the points for the Reds.
Glentoran had the chance to go back to the top two days later but went down to a surprise 2-1 reverse away to Sion Swifts. Teegan Lynch and Aimee Neal scored the goals to give Sion only their second league win of the season, despite the Glens pulling one back late on through Kerry Beattie.
Crusaders Strikers have strengthened their grip on third place, thanks to a 3-0 win against Derry City. Mairead McCann gave the Crues an early lead which was doubled five minutes before half time through Emily Wilson, before Jessica Rea struck late on to put the seal on a fourth win in five matches for Crusaders.
