Northern Premier Division
Stoke City can be very satisfied with their start to the new season and they made it a second straight win when beating newly promoted Boldmere St Michaels 5-1. Evie Priestley put the Potters in front and Roisin Kivel marked her 150th appearance for the club by doubling their advantage after the break. An own goal increased Stoke's lead and after Natasha Bailey reduced the arrears for Boldmere, any hopes of a Mikes comeback were extinguished as Delphi Cole and Rachael Quigley rounded off the scoring for the home side late on.
Rugby Borough are the other team with maximum points from their opening two matches and they claimed their second win of the new campaign with a 1-0 success away to Derby County. Ebony Wiseman settled matters when she scored the only goal of the match with twenty minutes remaining.
Huddersfield Town follow on in third after they defeated Loughborough Lightning 5-1 at the Accu Stadium. Aimee Kelly opened the scoring for Town just ahead of the interval and Loughborough got back on level terms, thanks to Olivia Ramon, early in the second half. Rhema Lord-Mears quickly restored Huddersfield's advantage and Laura Elford scored a quickfire double, before Kelly put the seal on a fine result for her side with her second goal.
Norwich City meanwhile notched up their first victory when beating Hull City 2-0. Grace Riglar gave Norwich the lead shortly before half time and the game remained in the balance until injury time, when Niyah Dunbar sealed the points for the Canaries by netting the second.
It was also a first success of the season for Middlesbrough as they bounced back from an opening day defeat to win 1-0 against West Bromwich Albion. A well contested match at Stockton was decided when Olivia Watt headed in a cross by Niamh Boothroyd in the seventeenth minute.
Peterborough Utd won for the first time following promotion as they edged out Liverpool Feds 3-2. The Posh Women got off to a flying start with Ellie May and Evie Driscoll-King both scoring inside the opening fifteen minutes and May grabbed her second just before the hour. The Feds had been reduced to ten players during the first half but launched a late fightback with goals from Madison Bouggess and Jessica Brady, but Peterborough held on for their first points of the season.
Southern Premier Division
Oxford Utd continued their impressive start to the new season by running out 3-0 winners over Lewes. All of the goals came in the first half, Nicola Gibson putting the U's in front before Holly Manders netted twice to take her tally to four goals in the opening two games.
Fulham meanwhile returned from Real Bedford with a 4-1 victory under their belts. Sophie Gillies gave them the lead in the opening minute and she added a second moments later from the penalty spot, with Real hitting back just before half time through Melis Mehmet. Two injury time goals from Ellie Olds secured a second straight win for the Cottagers and moved them into second place in the fledgling table.
AFC Bournemouth are the third team on maximum points, following their 2-1 win against Cheltenham Town. After a goalless first half, Isobel Watts put the Cherries in front eight minutes after the restart. Emily Owen brought Cheltenham back on level terms midway through the second half but the game was settled three minutes from time, when Tia-Mai Young scored a decisive second for Bournemouth.
After a narrow defeat in their opening match, AFC Wimbledon bounced back in style by scoring six times without reply past Plymouth Argyle. Dons captain Ellie Dorey gave her team an early lead with the first of her two goals whilst Freda Ayisi also contributed a brace, with Emily Taylor-Brown and Rosie Russell also getting on the scoresheet.
Portsmouth meanwhile notched up their first victory when scoring four times without reply past Swindon Town. Sofia Mallon fired Pompey into a sixth minute lead and Angelina Nixon made it two on the half hour. Mallon completed her double just past the hour and Zoe Barratt put the seal on the win with the final goal in extra time.
For the second week running, Hashtag Utd shared the points as their meeting with Exeter City finished in a 1-1 draw. Elicia Mulvaney put the Tags in front midway through the first half, with Exeter equalising five minutes later through Nia Lewis.
Division One North
Stockport County made it a tough first home game for Bradford City with a 5-1 win, which means they sit in first place in the table. However the scoreline did not tell the whole story as Bradford went in front through a twelfth minute penalty from Katja May, a lead which remained until just after the hour mark. Imogen Porteous-Williams equalised for Stockport and the prolific striker went on to hit a hat-trick, with Emily Bradshaw and Ellie Fletcher joining her on the scoresheet.
Leeds Utd have also started the season strobgly and they returned from Chester-le-Street Town with a 3-0 victory under their belts. It has been a difficult start for the Cestrians against the top two teams in the early table and they found themselves victims of Amy Woodruff who continued her fine form by bagging a hat-trick, to add to her opening day brace.
AFC Fylde are the third team on six points and they continued their impressive return to National League football by winning 2-1 away to York City. Demi Devereaux gave the Coasters an early lead which was cancelled out six minutes before half time, when Felicity Jones scored for York from the penalty spot. Kenzie Bentley put Fylde back in front late on and they held out for a second straight victory.
Blackburn Rovers are the division's other unbeaten run after they edged out Durham Cestria by the odd goal in seven. Eden Varah bagged an early brace to put the Wildcats two ahead but in the opening eight minutes of the second half, following a triple half time substitution, Rachel Lawrence and Ella Ritchie brought Blackburn back on level terms. Lleucu Mathias put Durham ahead for a third time from the penalty spot but Rovers once again hit back, with late strikes from Ritchie and Millie Fitzpatrick gave them a hard earned victory.
Halifax FC Women meanwhile claimed their first points of the season when they defeated Norton & Stockton Ancients 4-2. Halifax flew into a three-goal lead during the first half thanks to Anna Phillips and a Neve Renwick double, with Bianca Owens reducing the arrears shortly after the interval. Sacha Millward gave Norton hope when she further reduced the arrears but Halifax wrapped up the win with a goal from Amya Hammond-McLean in injury time.
Thornaby Women recorded their first ever win in the National League, beating Chorley 3-0. Nicki Gears opened the scoring after eleven minutes and Sophie Tierney quickly added a second, before Gears completed her double late on.
Division One Midlands
A 4-0 victory away to Sheffield FC means that Wythenshawe have kept up their fast start to the new campaign. Katie O'Gara and Rachael Dunlop ensured that the Cheshire side were two goals ahead at half time, before Dunlop netted her second goal and Anya McCready rounded off the scoring.
Sporting Khalsa meanwhile won 1-0 at Northampton Town to keep up their own winning start to the season. Luciana Cecchini settled matters when she scored the only goal of the game, fifteen minutes from time.
Leafield Athletic are also on six points following their 4-2 comeback success away to Lye Town. Britt Lote scored twice to put Lye two ahead inside the opening nineteen minutes but the game turned when Evie Gallop pulled one back for Leafield on the stroke of half time. Steph Weston levelled matters again midway through the second half and the fightback was completed when Saanya Najob scored a late double.
Sutton Coldfield Town meanwhile notched up their first win of the season when they beat Chesterfield 1-0. The only goal of the game at the SMH Group Stadium came with six minutes remaining, substitute Amber Downs firing home from close range.
Barnsley Women's long journey to Worcester City turned out to be a successful one, running out 5-1 winners at the Sixways Stadium. Nyah Edwards did give Worcester a ninth minute lead but Barnsley hit back strongly, with goals in quick succession from Aaliyah Nolan and Milly Wortley putting them in front before an own goal increased their advantage. Emelia King made it four on the hour and Ruby Ormiston crowned the win with the final goal nine minutes from time.
Notts County also got off the mark with a 3-0 victory against Kidderminster Harriers at Meadow Lane. Takiah Burnett burst through to neatly slot home the opening goal and the striker then capitalised on hesitant defending by the Harriers to score the second. Shoniqua Barnes then fired home the final goal to round off a fine day for her side.
Division One South East
Just two games into the new season, only one team sports a 100% record at the top and that is London Bees, who head the fledgling table by two points following their 1-0 success at Cambridge Utd. Grace Breen kept up the Bees' good start to the season when she netted the game's solitary goal, twenty minutes from time.
Actonians Ladies meanwhile defeated Queen's Park Rangers 3-0 to move themselves into second place. Wiktoria Fronc gave them the lead with only four minutes on the clock and Steph McCaffrey made it two at the midpoint of the first half. McCaffrey put the seal on the win with her second goal after the break.
Chatham Town made the long trip to Luton Town but made sure it was a successful one with a 2-1 victory. Lucy Jones put the Chats in front from the penalty spot, with Chloe Logie bringing Luton back on level terms on the stroke of half time. Chatham then took the lead again through Lottie Sharp and they held out to notch up their first win of the campaign.
Saltdean Utd join Actonians and Chatham on four points after sharing a 2-2 draw with Dulwich Hamlet. Georgia Bridges gave Saltdean a tenth minute lead which was quickly cancelled out by Cruz Fagan, but Natalie Taylor restored the visitors' advantage going into half time. Saltdean remained in front until the dying minutes when Leila Emmerson salvaged an equaliser and earned Hamlet a second successive draw, meaning both teams are still unbeaten.
Milton Keynes Dons chalked up their first victory of the new campaign when beating Billericay Town 2-0. The Dons went ahead in first half injury time when Favour Omenazu bundled home following a scramble and they made the game safe late on with the second goal, thanks to a header from Jenny Nagle.
Two of the newly promoted teams faced each other and it was Stevenage Women who emerged as 4-2 winners against Dartford. Abbey Davies put Dartford ahead early on, before Stevenage raced into a two-goal lead with Olivia Oshodi netting twice, either side of a Teni Charles goal. The Darts gave themselves hope when Davies pulled one back on the stroke of half time but it was Oshodi's day and she wrapped up the win for Stevenage when she completed her hat-trick with sixteen minutes remaining.
Division One South West
Four teams are on maximum points at the top following the opening two matches, headed by Moneyfields after they defeated Abingdon Utd 5-1. Olivia Venditto was on target twice along with Rebekah Tonks, Britt Jeal and Megan Fox, whilst Chloe Forrester netted Abingdon's consolation.
Gwalia Utd meanwhile won 1-0 against Bournemouth Sports for a second straight victory, Molly Kehoe scoring the only goal of the game with eighteen minutes remaining,
Also 1-0 winners on the day were Bridgwater Utd who edged past Maidenhead Utd to maintain their good start. Megan Jarvis gave them the lead after twelve minutes and they saw the game out to take themselves to six points.
Newly promoted Wycombe Wanderers complete the quartet of clubs at the top after their 2-0 success away to Keynsham Town. Mimi Hodges opened the scoring for Wycombe midway through the first half, and they wrapped up the win early in the second half with a second from Natalia Makowska.
It has been a difficult start for Ascot Utd and they were on the receiving end of a 6-0 scoreline on their trip to Torquay Utd. Ellie-May Miller put Torquay in front and Beth Everson netted twice along with Brooke Patton and Connie Pengelly ahead of half time. Pengelly rounded off the scoring when she added her second goal on the hour.
Bristol Rovers bounced back from an opening day to run out 3-1 winners away to Marine Academy Plymouth. Sam Drewery did get Marine off to a great start with a twelfth minute opener but Rovers hit back strongly with three goals just ahead of half time, quickfire strikes from Helena Costa and Gipsy Viveash turning matters around in their favour and Ruby Scahill sealing the points with the third.
