Genero Adran Leagues

Cardiff City handed The New Saints their first Genero Adran Premier defeat of the season, Gillian Keenan's early goal securing a 1-0 victory at the CIS Stadium.

Keenan struck with just six minutes played, racing through on goal and slotting past Mackenzie Haydn-Jones for her sixth goal in four games. Cardiff goalkeeper Daniela Kosinska was in inspired form throughout the match, saving two efforts from Fiona Barry either side of a point blank stop to deny Abbie Iddenden. Keenan also hit the bar early in the second half, but her early strike proved enough to give Noah Bushby's side a hard fought win and close the gap at the top to three points.

Wrexham therefore reclaimed top spot on goal difference with a stunning 7-0 victory over Cardiff Met Women at The Rock. The hosts needed just 14 minutes to break the deadlock, Faye Knox playing through Katie Barker, who poked home past Violet Bell at the near post. Phoebe Davies doubled the advantage two minutes later with a sweetly struck first time effort from a cleared corner for her first goal since December 2024. Ava Suckley added a third on 65 minutes with a stroke of fortune, her fierce effort bouncing down off the bar and back off Bell into the net, before making it a quickfire brace from Knox's free kick. The pick of the goals came from Maria Francis-Jones, who cut inside and curled beautifully into the bottom corner. Knox converted a late penalty after Faith Mulenga was deemed to have handled, and substitute Natalie Clark wrapped up the scoring in stoppage time with her first top-flight goal in over a year. Wrexham have now scored a staggering 40 goals in their opening seven games – no team in the league's history has ever scored more at this stage.

Briton Ferry Llansawel secured an impressive 3-0 victory against ten-player Swansea City, who were left frustrated on their return to the Swansea.com Stadium. Ferry forward Katy Hosford nearly haunted her former club early on, striking the crossbar, before the Reds were handed a glorious chance when Swansea defender Caitlin Williams brought down Freya Peyton inside the area, resulting in a penalty and a straight red card. Lucy Powell stepped up and fired past Amelia Forkings to give Ferry the lead, then she doubled her tally on the stroke of half time as her free kick from the right sailed over everybody, including Forkings. Brooke Llewelyn added a third eight minutes after the restart, slamming home from Powell's corner. The visitors' lead was never threatened, and they now move just two points behind the Swans and into the top half as they recorded their first ever victory over Swansea.

Libby Isaac scored a late equaliser as Aberystwyth Town got their first point on the board following a 2-2 draw with Barry Town United at Park Avenue. Fifteen-year-old Chloe Edwards put Aberystwyth ahead inside two minutes with her first ever senior goal, but Barry forward Beca Thomas cancelled it out ten minutes later. Olivia Barnett scored her first Barry goal to complete a first half turnaround three minutes before the break, but Aberystwyth found another way past Molly Arnesen with six minutes remaining, Isaac turning home Rebecca Mathias' cross for a valuable point. The Seasiders remain one point behind Barry at the bottom of the table.
