Northern Ireland Women’s Premiership

Goals flowed freely across the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership on Friday evening, with Cliftonville Ladies, Linfield Women and Glentoran Women all recording emphatic victories.

League leaders Cliftonville sit top of the table on 27 points from ten matches, while Linfield and Glentoran are locked together on 22 points after nine games apiece.

Cliftonville produced a dominant display away to Larne Women as Toni-Leigh Finnegan, Lucy Kelly, Aoibhe O’Neill and Charlotte Havern all found the net before the interval, with Kirsty McGuinness, Louise McDaniel, Victoria Carleton and Lydia Thompson adding further goals after the break.

Linfield also enjoyed a comfortable evening against Lisburn Ladies. Cora Chambers’ first half hat-trick helped the Blues establish a commanding lead at the interval. Eve Reilly struck twice and Sophie McKnight was also on target, while Mea Mezza replied twice for the hosts during the second half.

Glentoran returned to winning ways with a 5-1 success against Crusaders Strikers. Jessica Foy opened the scoring before Naomi McLaughlin curling in the second from the edge of the area. Nadene Caldwell added a long range strike and Mia Moore also got on the scoresheet whilst Michelle McDaid pulled one back for the visitors before McLaughlin completed her brace.
