Scottish Women’s Premier League
Hearts continued their title defence with another commanding performance, sweeping aside Motherwell 5-0 at Fir Park to make it two wins from two in the SWPL. 
The champions wasted little time asserting their authority, with Monica Forsyth nodding in the opener after just seven minutes. Carly Johns swiftly doubled the advantage, and Forsyth added her second before the interval with a beautifully placed finish that left the hosts with a mountain to climb. After the restart, Carly Girasoli struck midway through the second half before Johns completed her own brace to round off another polished display. For Motherwell, it was another chastening afternoon as they remain rooted to the foot of the fledgling table.
Rangers, meanwhile, produced a goal glut of their own at Broadwood, dismantling newly promoted Spartans 7-0 with last season's top scorer Katy Wilkinson in devastating form. The rout began early when Spartans captain Robyn McCafferty inadvertently turned the ball into her own net, before Wilkinson struck twice in quick succession to make it 3-0 inside the opening 16 minutes. Calliste Brookshire added her second goal of the campaign from close range, and Wilkinson completed her hat-trick before half time to give Rangers a five-goal cushion. The former Aston Villa striker was not finished there, netting a fourth early in the second half, and Laura Berry put the seal on a resounding victory for Leanne Crichton's side.
Hibernian maintained their flawless start with a battling 3-1 victory away to Partick Thistle. Siobhan Hunter proved the difference maker, scoring a header in each half to secure three more points for the Edinburgh outfit. Her first arrived ten minutes before the break, powering home from Ellis Notley's corner, though Thistle hit back swiftly through Sienna McGoldrick's stunning long range strike. Hibs regained the lead just before half time when another Notley delivery caused chaos, with Thistle's Sophie Timlin turning the ball into her own net. Hunter then completed her brace with another headed effort after the restart to seal a hard earned win.
Celtic made it back-to-back victories with a 3-0 success over Montrose, though the scoreline belied a far trickier encounter at Petershill Park. The home side were repeatedly frustrated in the first half, striking the woodwork three times, and they then found visiting goalkeeper Lauren Perry in inspired form, with a string of excellent saves keeping Celtic at bay. Hoops substitute Casey Howe finally broke the deadlock with a powerful strike eight minutes from time which was deemed to have crossed the line after hitting the underside of the bar. Montrose felt hard done by – they had earlier seen a goal ruled out for handball in the build up – but Celtic added gloss to the scoreline late on, with Maria McAneny curling in a superb effort and Issy Fisher netting a stunner from distance to complete the win.
Glasgow City bounced back from their opening day defeat with a comfortable 3-0 victory away to Aberdeen. City took the lead after 14 minutes when Kelly Brady – netting her first goal since joining the club – headed home from Lisa Forrest's floated delivery. Forrest turned provider again early in the second half, sliding the ball across the face of goal for Emily Gray to tap in at the far post. Erin McLaughlin then wrapped things up with eight minutes remaining, as City cruised to a straightforward three points to get their season firmly back on track.
SWPL 2
Kilmarnock hold on to the early leadership after they ran out 3-0 winners over Dundee Utd. Erin O’Brien put Killie in front with just four minutes on the clock and two further goals from Cara Gray in a six minute spell during the second half sealed the points. Boroughmuir Thistle are the other team on maximum points following their 1-0 victory against Queen’s Park, Holly Aitchison scoring the only goal from the penalty spot during the first half. St Johnstone occupy third place as a late Elvie McLean penalty earned them a 1-1 draw against Falkirk, who had been leading through a goal from Olivia Murphy. Rebecca Simpson and Jemma McQuillan accounted for the goals as Gartcairn Women claimed their first win of the season, 2-0 at Livingston, whilst Ava Smith was on target for Hamilton Academical who drew 1-1 with Renfrew, who had taken a first half lead through Lauren McCulloch.
