Four players make Scotland return

Scotland Women’s National team are gearing up to face off against Czechia in a double header as they bid the reach the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

Melissa Andreatta’s side topped their qualification group earlier this year, unbeaten against Belgium, Israel and Luxembourg and securing promotion back to ‘League A’ for the upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign.

Andreatta has named a 26-player squad for the double-header in October, returning from Injury Freya Gregory, Sam Kerr and Maria McAneny are back and available for selection along with striker Martha Thomas.

The first match will take place on Saturday 9 October at the Pardubice Stadium (6pm BST) and will be televised live on BBC Alba. The return leg will be four days later on Tuesday 13 October and this time Scotland will host Czechia at The Marbill Coaches Stadium, Home of St Mirren FC (7.15pm). The match will be shown live on BBC Scotland.

It’s the first time the Scotland Women’s National Team have played in Paisley since 2021 - tickets are available at £10 adults, £5 concessions, while Under-16s and SSC Members are free.

Victory over two legs against Czechia in October would tee up a play-off final against Lithuania or Sweden in December.
